One of the reasons this program caught our eye is their new website redesign. It's a really nice sight with bright colors and cool surf camp photos. The one drawback is they do not give too much information about their camp programs. They seem to focus more on their lessons and surf rentals. They ask you to email them for info about their camps.

But even so, the camp looks fun and seems to be run by experienced instructors. You also get a free t-shirt and lunch when you sign up. So if we were looking for a surf camp in Texas, this one would surely be in the running!

Surf camps are growing in popularity each year. Kids love to surf, or if they don't they want to learn how. But here's an often overlooked benefit to the surf camp experience: It offers fantastic health benefits for kids offering a total body workout from cardiovascular exercise to arm and leg strength to helping increase balance and more.

Here's how it works. When kids paddle out on their surfboards toward the ocean to catch a wave, where develop upper-body strength (including their arms and shoulders). And they're simultaneously getting a cardiovascular workout. Then, when they're actually surfing, they're using leg muscles and developing important balance skills.
